Following last night’s Suffolk & Ipswich League EGM held at Woodbridge Town FC the following proposal was narrowly voted in.
Proposal
To open all divisions and allow Reserve Teams from higher status clubs outside the league to enter and be eligible for promotion.
Player Status
It was also agreed by a large majority vote that the league reintroduce player status,
Status will be based on games played in the current season and be gained after playing 10 matches in a higher division, clubs will be allowed to play 4 higher status players in Reserve or A team games.
Should a player be out injured or unavailable for 21 days then the status can be relaxed for 1 match. If a club believes that this rule has been abused, it will have 7 days to lodge an appeal to the league.
Clubs wishing to be considered for promotion to the Premier Division must apply by 31st March so that ground requirements can be inspected and brought up to standard.
Changes to Cup Competitions
The following changes to cup competitions was agreed by a majority vote
First Team Cup (Currently Morrison Cup) All first teams to enter, with Premier teams entering at Round 3.
First Team Plate losing teams from the first two rounds will be entered into a new First Team Plate competition.
Reserve Team Cup all Reserve and A teams will enter this competition
Reserve Team Plate teams losing in the first two rounds of the Reserve Cup will be entered into this competition.
All these proposals are subject to ratification by Suffolk FA.
The league is actively looking for Sponsorship for all Cup competitions; Morrison sponsorship will end after this season.
