Table topping Kirton were held to a 2-2 draw at the Flannery Stadium against Leiston U23 who played for 70 minutes with 10 men following a red card for denying and obvious goalscoring opportunity.
Liam Ablitt opened the scoring for Kirton, Leiston replied shortly afterwards only for Kirton to regain the lead on the stroke of half time, Ablitt again the scorer. The second half was a highly contested affair with Leiston belying their numerical disadvantage and duly scored in some what controversial circumstances with referee Haslem over ruling the Kirton assistant referees offside flag. Leiston had the upper hand as Kirton appeared to tire on the lush surface , and were denied by a finger tip save by the Kirton keeper Spurling towards the end of 90 minutes. Kirton dropping points allows Henley and Debenham to leap frog them in the table.
