Earlier in the season it became apparent that with a late start to the playing of games that we needed to extend our season. So in late September the league asked for and received notice that the season could be extended to Saturday May 15th, a two week extension. Other leagues in the area have since followed our lead. At present we as a league are looking to see whether a another further extension will be required and are in close contact with Suffolk FA as we look to restart on December 5th. As the Macron SIL Fixture Secretary and being proactive I am looking daily at our fixture demands so we can get a full season in after last seasons null and void finish. Hopefully moving forward Covid 19 cases will be fewer and we have a mild dry winter to give as many playing days as we can possibly achieve. A recent survey was sent to clubs to see if they would consider playing on Easter Monday to gain another date to arrange games on and to see which evenings suited clubs especially those that share their grounds with cricket requirements. The league is trying very hard to get every game played and we are also pleased with the help shown by clubs so far. We are living in difficult times and acknowledge that everyone must pull in the same direction.
