Statement issued in respect of football on April 17th.

Message sent to Club Secretaries with teams playing friendlies this Saturday.

Dear Club Secretary,

Today the Football Association has issued a directive for football this Saturday afternoon.

No football is allowed to be played between 2.45 pm and 4.15pm during Prince Phillips funeral. So for this Saturday I would suggest that games are played with a kick off of 1.00 pm or 4.30pm. Or if that is out of the question and the game needs to be called off please let me know.

I would suggest you text or telephone your opposition Secretary and the Referee and come to a decision ASAP. Once you have made the decision can you please text me with your decision.

For teams playing Suffolk FA cup ties the county will contact you with their decision on the games.
