Tacket Street Boys Brigade Old Boys Football Club (teams in Division 2 and Division 4) has withdrawn from the league with immediate effect. With the loss of many key players a much reduced squad and movement of managers we felt it necessary to make the final step, although we tried our hardest to resolve these and fill gaps, in the interest of the Club and the League

We have been members of the league since we entered in September 1965, (although our history goes back to 1919). Over those 55 years we have played good quality football and for a Club of our size have had success in promotions up the league and introducing reserve teams and developed younger players, with winning the Suffolk Primary Cup and appearing in the final on two occasions.

We have had quality players and some good managers and importantly we have played against a wide ranging number of teams in the league. From all we have had good hospitality, competitive spirit in the play and made a range of friends in the game and we hope we extended the same

We thank all our fellow teams and wish them well in the Suffolk and Ipswich League in the coming season. Difficult it may be but with loyal players and resolute mangers I am sure it well be a worthy one

We would thank the SIL officials, particularly Mary Ablett for her skills of administering to our needs and requests and diligently getting all the paperwork done in an efficient and friendly manner, and extend our thanks to fixture secretary and referees

Best wishes
