Today two Cup Finals were decided with late goals. One brought despair and the other pure joy.

Bildeston Rangers went into their first ever Senior Cup final and can be very proud of their performance against Lakenheath. Losing by two goals, both scored in the last few minutes of the game were the difference on the day. No doubt Bildeston Rangers were very unlucky to go down so late in the game. Their achievement to reach the final in such a short space of time after becoming a Senior club is something everyone in their club should celebrate. I am sure they will bounce back from this set back and be ready to go one step further next season.

Stowupland Falcons scored an injury time winner to taste success in the Junior Cup for the first time in their history. After falling behind after 27 minutes they drew level  in first half added on time Ryan Rampley getting the goal. The game looked like it was going to penalties but Craig Lockwood got the vital winner after 92 minutes a goal which won the game for Falcons against Mutford and Wrentham. Congratulations to Falcons for bringing home the silverware.

Next weekend sees Bramford United take on Laxfield FC in the Primary Cup Final.

It has been a good season for SIL clubs in the county cups and hopefully there will be more to follow next season.

A special mention must go to Adrian Moye the Suffolk FA Competition Secretary and to Ian Smillie the Suffolk Referee Appointments Secretary for the hours of hard work put in over the last month setting up the games. It all helped to make for some exciting entertainment at grounds throughout the county.
